The secret to surviving Graves' Disease and finding the quality of life so many are desperately seeking is to first understand that Graves' Disease is a personal journey. Not every person will experience the exact same symptoms or to the same degree - lifestyle, age, daily stress and other health problems are a few factors that can influence the degree of symptoms. Second, Graves' Disease can trigger additional health problems such as low Vitamin D and hypoglycemia.

All too often Graves' Disease sneaks up very quietly.  The hyperthyroid symptoms slowly become worse over time as the thyroid wreaks havoc on the mind, body and soul.  Isolation soon becomes our constant companion.  After the thyroid is treated and the levels are within optimal range, a person then takes the journey of healing.  It often takes a lot of patience to allow the body heal and adjust back normal levels - how long depends on your personal journey with Graves' Disease.
